Overview #
stegseek is a fork of steghide that cracks the passphrase on a steghide file. It runs through a wordlist much faster than other steghide crackers. The project says it can get through rockyou.txt, a list of over 14 million passwords, in under two seconds.
stegseek can also check whether a file contains steghide data without a password, which is useful when you are looking through many files.

stegseek suspicious.jpg /usr/share/wordlists/rockyou.txt
If the passphrase is in the list, stegseek writes the hidden file out next to the image. Use steghide to embed data yourself and try it out.
